Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to reduce the frequency of hoovering manually. Look for one that offers an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that needs emptying only once in a while.
There are models that clean and charge on their own which can be important for people with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It may be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. Also, keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid becoming clogged. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it started. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot with voice or through the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that can provide power without fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases fresh air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. robotic vacuum cleaner on sale has three suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It quickly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back.
This model comes with an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also offers easy access to 2 attachments as well as a Wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its short running time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true, as CR's testing shows. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. It's still enough time to clean most of a typical-sized home but not long enough to get every single area (though the second time around usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have lots of money to spend on an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up all kinds of debris in our testing, and it often passes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and often will run out of battery before making it back to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects because it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and works better on bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a greater variety of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a brand is found on all kinds of electronic gadgets for your home So it's no surprise that they're also one of the top robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and more. It's easy to understand and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It didn't do very well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models that we tested, and this could be a deterrent for some shoppers.
The app lets you access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or kids when you're away from home. The dustbin and filter can be cleaned for quick, painless cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying, which helps keep the robot's dustbin clean and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Unlike other robotic vacuums, that are specifically designed for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path as well as a large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than competitors to keep the cleaning area clear for maximum runtime. They also come with two side sweepers to clean along edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of surface litter or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts the power level. It also includes a smart application that lets you view the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and connect it to its dock for charging at the press of a single button. The app allows you to customize the lights on top of the vacuum by using different colors so you can easily tell which areas it's focused on or where it's gotten stuck.
The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot when needed. My living room rug for instance is darkly colored which could cause a problem for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however, continued to move across the border without ever registering the cliff. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
