Best Robot Floor Cleaner
Robotic mops are more effective than vacuum cleaners that require you to sweep the floor before they can do their job. They are also better at cleaning near edges and thresholds.
Our favorite is the iRobot Combo j5+, which scored high marks in CR's tests of vacuuming and mopping. It is able to navigate household obstacles and leaves hardwood floors spotless as well as cleaning carpets with low pile.
iRobot Roomba Combo i5
This robot vacuum and mop is among iRobot's most versatile machines. It comes with a standard bin for dry waste, and an additional tank for wet. The tank is easy to fill and will inform you when it's empty. You can also buy a cleaning solution concentrate that is factory-compatible to use with this device.
It is excellent at navigating the floor and getting around obstacles. It has a retractable mops which prevents carpets from getting wet. The robot is also effective in removing pet fur off different floor surfaces. It is loud and doesn't perform as well as competitors in removing dirt and other debris from bare floors.
vacuum robot makes a excellent choice for those who want an efficient vacuum cleaner that can also mop without any additional equipment. It is a good fit for homes that do not have carpet and are primarily composed of hard flooring. However, it is not the best option for homes with a lot of stairs or large rooms with a lot of rugs. It's expensive however its features and performance justify the price.
It uses its own patent-pending Dirt Detect technology to detect areas with a higher amount of dirt and scrub them more thoroughly than other 2-in-1s. It comes with an advanced navigation system that allows it to navigate in neat rows to thoroughly cover the walls of a room. The mop pads can be washed and can be reused for up to 30 times.
You can easily create your own personalized cleaning schedule with the iRobot Home app or using your voice assistant1. Make use of the iRobot app to add rooms in order to avoid during future mopping sessions and create an agenda for your Roomba Combo i5.
The iRobot Combo j5+ offers an affordable alternative to the i7 and j9 models. It comes with similar mopping tools however it comes with a unique dirt-detecting system and a powerful vacuuming. The iRobot J5+ also performs very well in our mopping and vacuum stress tests, but it's not as efficient as the Ecovacs X2 Omni in these tests, making the Combo j5+ a less versatile choice.
iRobot Roomba Combo j5+
The iRobot Roomba Combo j5+ robot floor cleaner is a multi-functional device that can clean your floors and vacuum your floors at the simultaneously. It features a sophisticated navigation system that allows it map out your house and adapt to different ground types. This allows for efficient cleaning from one room to the next. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra, a highly rated and extremely functional Gen 4 robotic vacuum and mop is a well-built machine. The $1,400 list price is hard to swallow, but you will find it on sale frequently enough to make the purchase acceptable. The unit looks great, and the base station occupies just a small space in a corner of the room.
The design of this robot addresses some of the issues we've experienced with other robotic mops and vacuum cleaners, such as brushes that get tangled up in hair and the brush not being able enough to reach the flooring underneath furniture. The sweeping performance is also impressive on carpets as well as bare flooring. The vacuum/mop system has a high level of debris pickup, and the mop is able to absorb the bare floor quickly.
The mops also have an intelligent system to clean around the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot is able to easily get around obstacles like food bowls, toys, and backpacks. It could get caught or stuck with smaller, less hefty objects like shoelaces and USB cables, and pens.
We used this robot to vacuum and mop a mixture of pile carpet tiles, FLOR carpet and hardwood floors in an open, large floor layout. With FREO Mind enabled, it vacuumed and mopped the 90m2 area in just 170 minutes which is about the average for Gen 4.

The robot is distinguished by several features. The Freo X Ultra has a slew of software, sensor and hardware enhancements designed to keep it at the top of its category. It has been declared to have an autonomy of 3.5 hours for environments up to 260m2.
Freo's app lets you modify various functions, such as how often the robot returns to the base station. You can also change the frequency of mopping and the power level (silent, smart), or the mopping's humidity. The app is able to detect areas that are heavily soiled and create an efficient cleaning route, as well as give detergent out or raise the carpet's pads.
Other notable features include a simple-to-read display on the robot's underside and the dock door is convenient to open. The Freo X Ultra is the most efficient vacuum and mop for home or apartment owners who are looking to reduce their chores, while keeping their homes clean and tidy.
Miele Scout RX3
Miele is not a slouche in the world of robotic vacuuming and has a reputation for quality and innovativeness. This new model aims to take it to the next level with smart features and top-notch cleaning performance.
The RX3 comes with dual suction technology smart navigation system that incorporates 3D mapping, and a camera that sends live images to your smartphone for effortless control. The powerful four-stage cleaning system ensures excellent dust removal on hard and carpet floors, while intuitive side brushes with a swing-out feature and two suction channels clean in corners. The 8.5 cm height means it can get under furniture that is low, and front cameras and infrared sensors help it navigate obstacles and thresholds easily.
The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test of how well it cleaned baking powder near baseboards and corners. Its 2,500Pa of suction was a little weaker than other robots but it moved quickly and was extremely quiet. It didn't clean, however its washable pads were difficult to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.
Its app is a little on the basic side with no advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It is compatible with Alexa but its voice controls aren't clear or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it returns to the charging station after the course. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow a previous route, but the RX3 stumbles around until it finally gives up.
Another issue we faced was with its smart features, specifically the mapping function as well as digital keep-out zones. While it did a good job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes however, it was easily stuck by cables and socks and couldn't handle the tassels on rug. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth considering as an alternative to traditional uprights.
